Over time, our skin loses its youthful contour and radiance: it wrinkles, it sags, it becomes lined and sun-damaged. But you don’t have to live with aging, damaged skin!
Laub Dermatology offers a variety of non-invasive procedures to counteract the effects of aging, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport™ and injectable fillers such as Radiesse®, Juvéderm® and Restylane® to smooth lines and wrinkles and plump up sunken areas; Dual Fraxel® laser, chemical peels and IPL Photofacials to reduce blemishes and scarring and produce fresh, glowing skin; Thermage™ for skin tightening; and sclerotherapy & laser treatments for the reduction of facial and leg veins.

BOTOX® Cosmetic / Dysport®
BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth lines and wrinkles. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® injections relax the muscles responsible for wrinkles to give the face a rejuvenated look.
Indications for BOTOX® include:
- Frown Lines
- Crow’s Feet
- Forehead Furrows
- Want to:
- Raise The Eyebrows
- Turn Up Corners of The Mouth
- Perioral Lines
- Neck Bands
- Excessive Sweating (Hyperhydrosis)
Laub Dermatology is recognized as a national training center for BOTOX®. Dr. Laub has been named the #1 provider of BOTOX® in Marin County during the last two years by Allergan. Dr. Laub is among the most experienced physicians when it comes to BOTOX® treatments and has helped pioneer these techniques over the past 15 years.
Dysport is an FDA-approved injection treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Dysport injections are made from the bacterium Clostridum botulinum, the same protein used in Botox injections.
Dysport was developed in Europe during the early 1990s, and has been used there successfully for several years. In April 2009, Dysport was approved by the FDA for use in the US, and is expected to rival Botox, the most popular cosmetic procedure, with its convenience and long-lasting results.
XEOMIN® is made through a unique precision manufacturing process that isolates the therapeutic component of the molecule and removes the “accessory proteins” that don’t play an active role in treatment. XEOMIN® is a highly purified neurotoxin.
Frown lines form when facial expressions are made as the muscle under the skin contracts. Over time, as your skin ages, these repeated expressions cause lasting frown lines. Neurotoxins, such as XEOMIN®, are prescription medications that block the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions. So frown lines are softened.
Chemical peels exfoliate the damaged outer layers of skin on the face to reveal the healthy, glowing skin beneath. They smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths. Dr. Laub tailors peel formulas and strengths to each patient for optimal results.

Aging and sun exposure diminishes the volume and elasticity in our faces. Facial fillers replenish the skin’s collagen support structure, smooth lines and fill indentations, producing a fresher, more youthful look. Many facial fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which are part of the natural support structure of the skin.
Indications for fillers include:
- Glabellar Lines (Between the Eyebrows)
- Nasolabial Folds (From the Root of the Nose to the Angle of Your Mouth)
- Dark Circles and Hollows Beneath the Eyes
- Thinning Lips & Lip Lines
- Contouring Sunken Cheeks and Chins
- Restoring a Youthful Oval Shape to the Face
The latest tissue fillers include: Belotero® Restylane-L®, Juvéderm®, Juvéderm Voluma™ XC, Perlane-L™, and Radiesse®. Depending on the types of wrinkles or scars, we can discuss the best filler options for you.
Belotero® – Belotero is the latest, most advanced form of dermal filler available today. It has a unique ability to integrate with the tissues of your skin, providing volume and a more youthful shape to your face. Belotero can reduce lines and wrinkles while enhancing your own facial contours.
Juvéderm Voluma™ XC – Juvéderm Voluma™ XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to 2 years, in patients over the age of 21.
Restylane-L® - Restylane-L® is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin longer than collagen implants.
Perlane-L™ - Perlane-L™ is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips and contour the cheeks and chin. It is made by Medicis. We are now using fillers to successfully lift the face.
Radiesse™ - Radiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxyl apatite.
Photofacial is a non-abrasive and non-invasive rejuvenation of your skin using the remarkable new technology of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Laub Dermatology has StarLux®, the newest and most advanced IPL available. IPL Photofacials can improve the signs of:
- Sun Damage
- Brown Spots
- Mild Acne Scars
- Dark Circles around the Eyes
- Fine Lines around the Eyes and Mouth
The IPL Photofacial handpiece is gently pressed to the skin and painless pulses of light are emitted. Usually 3-5 treatment sessions lasting about 30 minutes each will provide you with beautiful results.
There is no recuperation time – with an IPL Photofacial you can return to work or resume your normal activities on the same day. You will notice a gradual, natural-looking improvement in your skin with time. IPL is a safe solution tailor-made to your skin type and condition.
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for varicose and spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the dilated vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin surface. This treatment requires 2-4 visits to provide optimal results. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins and prevents further complications.
Juvederm Voluma™ is a new, FDA-approved dermal filler formulated specifically to add volume to the face around the cheeks and chin. This is the only injectable gel created to provide a subtle, natural enhancement to the mid-face, addressing changes in definition that occur over time. Juvederm Voluma can help restore more youthful contours by plumping up the area that so often loses volume as part of the aging process. It can also return a firmer shape to the jaw line when some softening has set in.
Juvederm Voluma is not only an effective treatment method, but it is long lasting as well. In many patients, the results will last for a period of up to 18 months.
The active ingredient in Juvederm Voluma is hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a substance naturally produced within the skin. As we get older, the levels of HA present in the skin begin to decline, resulting in a loss of volume and sunken or sagging cheeks. Juvederm Voluma integrates into the existing collagen and elastin in the skin tissue to offer greater support and elasticity. This can provide a noticeable smoothing and firming to the skin and lend the facial structure more substantial definition.
Juvederm Voluma is the latest in the Juvederm line of dermal fillers. These various formulas have a successful history of reducing the appearance of wrinkles and folds in the skin and rejuvenating the face.
Thermage® Total Tip
Thermage® is a highly advanced, non-invasive procedure for tightening and smoothing the skin. The latest form of this treatment, known as Thermage Total Tip, is now available for patients seeking effective, fast results on the skin of the face, neck and other parts of the body. Total Tip will safely deliver up to twice the heating volume of earlier versions of Thermage, producing immediate, exceptional improvements to the skin in patients of all ages and skin types.
The Thermage procedure uses a unique form of radiofrequency energy that can enhance the skin’s firmness, tone and texture and provide a better contour. This results in a noticeable tightening, similar to that of a lift, but without an incision or recovery time. With the gentle touch of the device tip, the surface of the skin is cooled while the deeper tissue is altered by the radiofrequency heating. This stimulates new collagen production to provide dramatic rejuvenation that appears quickly yet is long-lasting.
Thermage Total Tip is very effective for patients with a moderate amount of sagging skin and wrinkles. Minimal redness is seen in some patients after the procedure, but it usually disappears within an hour. Patients can return to their normal activities immediately following a treatment. The results are typically noticeable for at least six months and in some cases will last for several years.
Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin,” is a common yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition.
Submental fullness can impact a broad range of adults including both women and men, and can be influenced by several factors such as aging, genetics and weight gain. Submental fullness is often resistant to diet and exercise alone.
KYBELLA™ is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness.
Treatment with KYBELLA™ is customized by physician’s evaluation of patient.
