BOTOX® Cosmetic / Dysport®

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth lines and wrinkles. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® injections relax the muscles responsible for wrinkles to give the face a rejuvenated look.

Dysport®

Dysport is an FDA-approved injection treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Dysport injections are made from the bacterium Clostridum botulinum, the same protein used in Botox injections.

Dysport was developed in Europe during the early 1990s, and has been used there successfully for several years. In April 2009, Dysport was approved by the FDA for use in the US, and is expected to rival Botox, the most popular cosmetic procedure, with its convenience and long-lasting results.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels exfoliate the damaged outer layers of skin on the face to reveal the healthy, glowing skin beneath. They smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths. Dr. Laub tailors peel formulas and strengths to each patient for optimal results.

Facial Fillers

Aging and sun exposure diminishes the volume and elasticity in our faces. Facial fillers replenish the skin’s collagen support structure, smooth lines and fill indentations, producing a fresher, more youthful look. Many facial fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which are part of the natural support structure of the skin.

The latest tissue fillers include: Restylane-L®, Juvéderm®, Perlane-L™, and Radiesse®. Depending on the types of wrinkles or scars, we can discuss the best filler options for you.

Juvéderm XC® – The newest hyaluronic acid available. There is no pre-testing required, and it works well for fine lines.

Restylane-L® - Restylane-L® is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin longer than collagen implants.

Perlane-L™ - Perlane-L™ is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips and contour the cheeks and chin. It is made by Medicis. We are now using fillers to successfully lift the face.

Radiesse™ - Radiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxyl apatite.

IPL Photofacial

Photofacial is a non-abrasive and non-invasive rejuvenation of your skin using the remarkable new technology of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Laub Dermatology has StarLux®, the newest and most advanced IPL available. IPL Photofacials can improve the signs of:

The IPL Photofacial handpiece is gently pressed to the skin and painless pulses of light are emitted. Usually 3-5 treatment sessions lasting about 30 minutes each will provide you with beautiful results.

There is no recuperation time – with an IPL Photofacial you can return to work or resume your normal activities on the same day. You will notice a gradual, natural-looking improvement in your skin with time. IPL is a safe solution tailor-made to your skin type and condition.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for varicose and spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the dilated vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin surface. This treatment requires 2-4 visits to provide optimal results. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins and prevents further complications.

Thermage® Skin Tightening

Thermage® is a quick, easy and non-invasive alternative to a face lift. Using painless radiofrequency energy, Thermage “lifts” and tightens loose and sagging skin to restore youthful vigor to patients’ faces. It achieves its most dramatic results in improving neck contours and raising sagging cheeks. The Thermage device stimulates collagen production and temporarily reduces wrinkles while keeping the skin surface cool and comfortable. There is no incision or recovery time. Results last at least two years.
